What are my options for running a Bitcoin Lightning Node at home?

I'm ready to become my own bank. What options are available for me to start my own Bitcoin Lightning Network node?

First of all: YAY! 💪

You have several options as follows:
  • You can run an Umbrel node, which can run on any Linux computer or a dedicated Raspberry pi machine. Umbrel provides instructions on how assemble the hardware and how to setup the software. It is pretty easy to do this even without technical expertise.
  • You can buy a fully assembled Fulmo RaspiBlitz node, which is similar to Umbrel and it comes pre-assembled.
  • You can run a Lightning App on Linux, OS X, or Windows machines.
  • If you're a technical user you can use LND directly.
