It depends. If the channel opening was RBF (replace by fee) it would be easy. Can you post a link to the channel opening transaction so we can check for you?

Thanks for getting back to me.
I assume you mean this transaction ID.       0c955efe2197624cf43d94d18dd12890f67db79ab1cfaa7d9cf528878ab737ff

I am a newb so dont fully understand much at all to be honest,  one of the other blokes in the swap  (the verifier) sent me a link https://docs.lightning.engineering/lightning-network-tools/lnd/unconfirmed-bitcoin-transactions so i did the following in a comand line terminal on my node.
It says on there Channels need to be confirmed within two weeks after they were initiated, or else they will not become active and will have to be force closed. So i dont know what that means or how that works.
Regardless I tried to follow the article and see if i can bump fee. To this it says in article it must have multiple outputs and to check on chain, i have done that and I think it does but again only learning. If you are more savy than me maybe you could check for me as well.

I tried to follow the article and below is what i did, and replaced 160  with 20 assuming that means 20 sats per byte and changed the chanel point 0 to 1 . It seemed to do nothing . If you are techy and can advise that would be great, appreciate your time.

Here is the transaction. You can see that it says it's RBF (replace by fee). This is good news. It means you can theoretically bump the transaction fee. What application did you use to open the channel? I never had to do it myself, but here are the instructions for LND.

Hi, thanks for getting back to me, can I ask, is this someone from lightning network plus i am speaking with or is this a community thing???????

In answer to your questions, I am using thunderhub. I am using it on umbrel.  Sorry but your reply does not help me at all, if you look above your reply, i wrote what i tried, I literally told you i went to the instructions and tried to follow them, i pasted the command line  script in which i used and you will see nothing happened. First step was to see open chanels so I could see the out put index, i then did the bump fee line with the changed output index, nothing happened. Infact t says that we cant use bump fee but i thought i would try anyway. It says I need to do a child pays for parent , I have no idea how to do this.  It also says that if it is not confirmed within two weeks then it will be cancelled and I have to do a forced close, again no idea how to do this

Really hoping you can help me here as time is ticking and I wish to get it solved for the sake of the other members of the group more than anything

I'm the admin here on this site, but anyone can reply from the community. I'm glad you managed to figure it out. Sorry I wasn't much of a help.
