Force closed remedy
I opened a channel for a pentagon swap. ( https://lightningnetwork.plus/swaps/7928 ). Everybody completed their openings except for the leader (A) who said he didn’t have enough sats to complete. (E) already opened a channel to (A) now has to close. LN+ was nice enough to step in as leader and (E) opened a 500k channel to him but he force closed my channel to him costing me 2448 sats. He never explained why and ignored my question. In situation like this, what remedy can we pursue? I can’t leave a negative rating because I opened to him. Are we just SOL?

Thank you for the report. We don't have a system in place for this, but what would you suggest we should do? Thank you for your recommendations!

1. At the minimum, unless there is a legitimate reason ( node failure ), the initiator of early force close ( before the end of term specified in the swap ) should bear the cost of the force close
2. Users should be able to leave additional comments besides ratings for timely open
3. Also make a dedicated comments and reviews sections for each user under their profile so is it easier to research them or maybe a search function where you can tag a username and can see all the comments associated with that user
4. Make a forum section where users can hang out and chat about their experience with each other
5. I better stop before this turned into a list a mile long. LOL

Agreed, sometimes a private DM would be appropriate.

- Ratings should be possible in both directions at least.
- Having the option to comment & moderate (negative) ratings would be good as well.
- The moderator/mediator should have the right to remove a rating (neutral).
- Also contacting swap members directly instead of everything in public would be nice as sometimes not everything needs to be discussed visible for everyone.
- Getting fees back from someone forcefully closed a channel would be great but this sounds impossible to me wo admin overhead for registrations etc.
Update: Haha partially similar comments written in parallel.
