TokyoP2P: A Routing-Focused Lightning Node Looking for New Channel Partners
Posted 18 days ago by Tokyo ₿ P2P
TokyoP2P is an actively managed Lightning Network node focused on reliable routing, liquidity discipline, and long-term channel health.
The node currently maintains several active channels with a mix of well-known peers and newer routing partners. Recent management has focused on improving profitability rather than simply chasing a perfect 50/50 balance. Channel fees are adjusted based on actual liquidity and routing behavior: channels with scarce local liquidity are priced more defensively, while high-local channels are kept cheaper to encourage organic outbound flow.
Current node priorities:
- Keep channels active and monitored.
- Adjust routing fees according to liquidity and demand.
- Prefer sustainable routing over short-term volume.
- Rebalance selectively when it makes economic sense.
- Build useful paths between peers with real payment flow.
TokyoP2P is especially interested in peers who want mutually useful liquidity, stable uptime, and channels that can support real routing activity over time. If you are looking for a node that is actively maintained and managed with profitability in mind, opening a channel with TokyoP2P can help create more useful routes across the network.

I’m interested in opening a channel, but I’d prefer to do it mutually if that works for you: I open one channel to your node, and you open one channel back to mine. That way both sides start with useful liquidity and the connection is more balanced from the beginning.
If you’re open to that, let me know if a 1,000,000 sats channel size is OK for you and we can coordinate.
Best regards!

Hi Tokyo ₿ P2P
Your balancing strategy sounds interesting, but it faces the same challenge: If both channels are at full capacity or depleted, balancing cannot take place either, unless there are enough additional channel partners who can serve as sources. If these are available, a second channel is not needed, since public Lightning channels work in both directions.
In my opinion, this doesn’t really make balancing much easier. We therefore rely on natural balancing and use Liquid Peerswap as well as additional automated mechanisms.

Our node has recently started allowing only channels with a volume of at least 5 million sats.
As soon as you feel a partnership would be beneficial, we look forward to welcoming you as a new channel partner.

🍊 ∞/21M ⛏️,
Now it makes more sense for me. I appreciate the clarification. I’m still learning and refining the strategy for TokyoP2P, so your feedback is useful.
For now, I will keep monitoring my node’s liquidity and routing behavior. Once I feel that opening a channel of at least 5 million sats with your node would be beneficial for both sides, be sure I’ll be happy to reach out again and hopefully open a channel with you.
Thanks a lot,
Tokyo ₿ P2P
