Peers in liqudity swaps with completely disabled channels
I have a liquidity swap with aoeu2Embassy (16060). The node however has a lot of channels with that are disabled in both directions, including to nodes that are members of the swap. The channels have been disabled for an extended period of time. I for one think this makes the peer rather useless and having a channel like that is worse than not having the channel at all. I don't appreciate the boost of capacity with useless channels... What do you guys think about this? And how should it be handled?

Disabled or closed?

Disabled in both directions. This means that core-lightning shows the node as off-line.
It's a rather nasty situation because as core-lightning has the node marked as off-line closure initiated by me must be forced.

Some nodes disables channels in a single direction, even when there is plenty of liquidity. My next swap will have an additional rule dictating the disabling a channel is viewed as a breach and such nodes will see the channel closed.

Try messaging the node operator, maybe it's just a mistake.

Mmm, the node was actually down. But my drawn conclusions were not ungrounded. I have experienced channels with nodes that are disabled for one reason or another. Usually I just close such channels and carry on. I care less about their particular reason - usually it's for optimizing some statistic, which thus makes my node fail instead of theirs (as cln is oblivious to disabled channels). But just closing is not a nice thing to do in a swap. :)
