No way to restore a deleted node account?

I deleted my account because I wanted to change the name & color of my node, and it wasn't picking it up from my config. I created this new account with another email address, but I can't reclaim my node. If I can sign a message with it, why is it blocked from being claimed by the new account?

Thanks, but I still get the message "Sorry, the node you signed with is associated with another user account. Please verify another node, or visit the dashboard to log out, and then sign in with lightning to access your other account." Could it be because my email (robleder@hotmail.com) was also associated with the user id that was canceled?
