Suggestion for improvement

What do you think of locking the rating given after contract expires? This would prevent retaliation to a node if they close after completion date.

Yes. The rating rules will be improved. I’m collecting suggestions from node operators to make it as fair and useful as possible.

The current system is good because it is easy to understand and addresses the value transfer.
i.e. Opening and keeping open the channel gives value from one side, the positive rating gives value from the other side.

I like the rating system. What I would like to see is the happy/sad rating be locked after the contract period has lapsed.

What if the unhappy person gets a settlement to remove their rating?
I think the bigger problem is potential peers can't easily check which swap caused the negative ratings.
