Depeche Node
This ain’t the worst node you’ve ever seen. Making this node aged me several years in the matter of a few days. My family doesn’t recognize me anymore. Exiled from the home, I live in a box (but a nice box). My 1984 Seiko calculator watch is actually running the node. That and its 56k modem are powered by remnant charge from discarded batteries that I scrounge. For heat sink and protection, the whole mess is wrapped in used tinfoil and candy wrappers. I know that sounds pretty bad, but when end times arrive, you know my node and I will be online, running lean and mean. I’ll be there for you when much fancier rigs have fallen to raiders and/or the EMP. My chaos-inspired rebalancing script draws from BASIC and the movements of a pack of rats in my alley.
